Some of my fondest memories are days in the kitchen. I remember making German Coffee Cake and Date Bars with my grandmother Helen. Stretching dough as big as a dining room table to make Austrian Povatica with my grandmother Tillie. And then days of baking for every holiday and special occasion with my mom Carol. When we made cookies it was truly rare that all the dough actually made it into the oven because we loved it as much, if not more, than the baked cookie. This was a habit that started generations ago and I joke that I arrived in this world already predisposed to it. My mom even used to send raw cookie dough through the mail to my brother at college! So it is only natural that eventually I would develop a business around our very favorite treat using delicious family recipes.
The best way to eat it is by the spoonful right from the cup and you can eat it guilt free...ok, almost guilt free...since our dough is made with pasturized eggs and specialty flour making it safe to eat without baking. It's delicious mixed into your favorite ice cream or blended into a shake. The wonderful bonus is that our dough is also perfect to bake! Make cookies and then add a scoop between two for the best cookie dough sandwich of all! By the way, my Dad Jim originated this idea by putting a spoonful of chocolate chip cookie dough on a warm cookie when it first came out of the oven. YUM!
